Chris Meloni Goes East Coast Traditional in the Hollywood Hills

Hollywood Hills homes often have storied pasts. The new home of “Law & Order” leading man Chris Meloni and his interior designer wife, Sherman Williams, is a prime example. Their new $5.25 million home has a long Hollywood (and some say haunted) history.

The home is still best known as the “Ozzie and Harriest House” from its use as the real-life and television home of sitcom stars Ozze and Harriet. Other owners included music industry legend Ron Fair and movie producer Bo Zenga. The exterior of the house has been used in two many movies and shows to list, but younger readers might recognize it best as uber-agent Ari Gold’s house on “Entourage”.

The listing describes the five bed five and a half bath as “East Coast Traditional”, which seems accurate with its white wood paneling, gabled roof line and classic red door. Inside the freshly rehabbed home is decidedly more modern while maintaining its classic vibe. In addition to formal living and dining rooms, there’s an additional family room with a “tracery” ceiling detail, French doors and even a red brick fireplace. Yet another lounging room houses the television and connects with an open kitchen. The professionally appointed kitchen has top-grade appliances throughout, a wide center island and marble countertops.

Outside, the Meloni family will have plenty of spaces for outdoor entertaining as well as enough parking to accommodate guests. A garage has been converted to an office-gym area and a separate sun drenched pool is surrounded by brick steps leading to a brick lounging area.

Now back to the “haunted” Hollywood Hills house part. For years, there have been stories of a possible Ozzie Nelson haunting, such as lights turning off and faucets on. In fact, the real estate agent who has sold the house four times now, claims every single seller has experienced some ghostly happenings. Covers have flown of sleeping guests, lucked doors have opened and Ozzie Nelson’s model train starts running in the middle of the night. Let’s hope for the Meloni’s sake the recent total remodel has exercised the homes past.
